I'd recommend a tagboard so that students can post comments and interact with teachers. Try http://cbox.ws/

This is due to the fact that A VAST MAJORITY of students cannot find this 'comments' section.

I personally feel that this blog can do well with a tagboard, however, it would be harder for the teachers to moderate the blog. Anyway, I personally feel that the push factors were more evident in attracting people to Singapore as the journey to Singapore at that time involved risks. Also, Singapore was not as developed as their countries probably and they would have to spend time adapting to Singapore's way of libing at that time.

I felt that all the immigrants play a significant part in Singapore history. For example, if the are no coolies, trading will not be working. If there is no traders, our economy will not work. If there is no Eurasians to come here, our Indian drivers and guards will have no work and vice versa. CHEERS TO OUR FOREFATHERS.

In the issue of a tag board, i support this idea but spamming must be controlled as CBox can only give the users the spammer's IP and tracking it will give you a address like Banchale-33@singnet.com.sg which we cannot track further unless police wants to help us.

Keep up this blog,

there shouldn't be a tagboard as it will be very difficult to read people's posts i prefer this comments section as we can post as long as we want

I feel that it would not be better to have a tag board as there would be more people spamming the blog.
Anyways, it is a good thing that Singapore had a lot of immigrants as they played an important role in Singapore's history.

Raffles may have 'founded' this island called Singapore, the foreign workers are those who actually do the dirty work.without them,Singapore will still be a jungle country

I think that having a tagboard is ok just that it is very small. I think that people all did their part to make singapore what it is today. especially William Farquhar, John Crawford and the immigrants. Raffles is a slacker :)

i agree with john. raffles is a slacker. i think the immigrants were the true founders of singapore. people like raffles, william farquhar and john crawford didn't even work at the port..

I feel that Singapore owes it's prosperity to the immigrants who toiled hard under harsh circumstances to get Singapore to where it is today. So thank you immigrants

I think setting up this blog was a very good idea as it helps students learn more and keep up with the lessons taught in school...just in case they were sick or,dare i say it,were'nt paying attention in class=P.

IMPORTANT NOTE
It is a fact that Raffles left the entire Singapore to William and John but Raffles is not a slacker. Raffles need to attend to affairs at other British settlements.

Look ahead,

We are talking about him not contributing to the founding of singapore. Who cares if he was not free to found Singapore? the main point is that he did not help much so he should not be labelled as the founder of singapore :)

hi, we think that singapore would not be as prosperous and succesful as now if not for the immigrants that started the ball rolling. we should be grateful to them for how they contributed to singapore. we feel that this blog has been extremely useful in aiding us in our studies. thanks to this blog, we have learnt that immigrants have played an essential part in the development of singapore:)

the fact is that raffles was not in singapore working like animals at the port.. so why should we say raffles was the founder of singapore when he was away more than half of the time doing his own business. who cares if he founded singapore.. he didn't do his part anyway.. i agree with john again.
